Dr Richard Jiang is a Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) in the School of Computing and Communications at 久久精品, UK, and a member of the Lancaster Intelligent, Robotic and Autonomous Systems (LIRA) Centre. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) and serves on the EPSRC Peer Review College. His research lies at the intersection of artificial intelligence and novel computing paradigms, with particular interests in uncertainty-aware computing, quantum neural computing, post-quantum computing, brain-inspired computing, and trustworthy AI. His work focuses on developing intelligent systems that are not only accurate and efficient but also robust, interpretable, and reliable under uncertainty.

Dr Jiang has established an internationally recognised research portfolio supported by over in competitive funding from EPSRC, the Leverhulme Trust, international agencies, and industrial collaborators. His contributions include pioneering resource-efficient single-qubit and hybrid quantum neural models for noisy intermediate-scale quantum (NISQ) systems, advancing scalable and practical approaches to quantum learning. He has also introduced Face2Brain, an innovative framework for non-invasive neurodegenerative assessment and explainable modelling of brain function and ageing.

Dr. Jiang has supervised and co-supervised more than 20 PhD researchers, with over 10 successfully completing their doctoral degrees, reflecting a sustained commitment to doctoral training and research capacity building. He has authored over 100 peer-reviewed publications in leading AI venues, including NeurIPS, CVPR, IJCAI, and AAAI, with approximately per year in recent years. He also contributes actively to the international research community through editorial board memberships, programme committee service, and regular reviewing for major journals and conferences, demonstrating recognised expertise and academic leadership in artificial intelligence, novel computing and related fields.
